Study and work with the ITSalzburg//study.work.support program from the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences and a leading IT company
How can you get young people excited about studying IT? What can you do to counteract the acute deficit of IT specialists in Austria? And how can you best support IT students to get started in their career? These and many other questions were asked by the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences and the Information Technology & System Management booster club with their many renowned Salzburg-based IT companies. And the answers came in the form of an innovative study package: ITSalzburg//study.work.support – a sponsored course of study at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences including a guaranteed part-time position.
„Exploring new horizons is a part of everyday life at SKIDATA and we are very interested in training qualified and motivated IT and software talents in-house. So for us it was clear that we – as an innovative Salzburg IT company – would be a part of this pilot project,“ says Frank, Senior Vice President of R&D at SKIDATA, about this new study package. This combination of paid part-time work and sponsored IT education program aims to motivate more qualified young people to study Information Technology & System Management at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences.
IT specialist training for Salzburg
The goal of this program is to strengthen Salzburg as an IT hub. Here’s how this new IT study package creates the ideal conditions for future IT students in Salzburg: covered tuition costs, rent subsidies, a paid part-time position in one of the IT companies that belong to the booster club and valuable contacts in Salzburg’s IT world. These are the perfect conditions to master your job and studies and to immediately apply the things you have learned. With the ITSalzburg//study.work.support pilot project, future IT experts will be integrated into Salzburg’s IT working world from the time they start their IT studies.
Attractive sponsorships for students with part-time work at SKIDATA
As part of this IT study package, approximately 20 first-semester students on the full-time Information Technology & System Management Bachelor course at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences receive financial and moral support. After being accepted onto their program, these future IT students can apply for a part-time job at participating IT companies such as SKIDATA. Prospective applicants should possess previous technical knowledge and enthusiasm for IT.
