Bewerberseite.

Independent Study Unlocks Five Key Tips to Improving Web User Experience

Research commissioned by e-Spirit emphasizes integration as the way to reach audiences consistently from channel to channel

Boston, Jan. 16, 2013 – Companies in every sector are starting to recognize that having an innovative, customized and consistent way to address target groups through a wide range of channels and contact points is an important factor in their success. A commissioned study conducted by Forrester Consulting on behalf of e-Spirit, details the issues companies need to consider in order to offer their users – customers, employees and partners – real added value via more and more channels including online, mobile, portals or smart TV.

The new study titled „Climbing The Digital Experience Maturity Ladder Through An Integrated Technology Approach,“ is available now as a complimentary download at www.e-spirit.com/forresterwp. Based on original Forrester research and surveys, the study delves into the most important steps for implementing an integrated approach that addresses users across multiple channels.

Five tips for successful customer experience management

According to the study, the basis for an innovative customer or user experience requires creating an integrated interaction between three application areas: traditional WCM, e-Commerce and CRM systems; solutions for interaction and collaboration; and tools for measuring, analyzing and controlling success.

Companies are already using many of these systems, but in most cases they are content silos disconnected from one another. In light of the large volumes of content that companies need to manage, and the increasing diversification of the output channels, these silos create a large amount of manual work that is not economically justified in the long term. In addition, poor integration gets in the way of a consistent customer experience.

Only with the integrated use of these tools in the context of a best-of-breed strategy, Forrester reports, can companies enable their employees to easily and quickly handle increasingly complex tasks, from creating and publishing content to analyzing and optimizing it. In order to implement a platform that can efficiently combine all of the necessary tools for customer experience management (CXM), Forrester offers the following five tips:

1. Analyze the status quo. Before they dive in and choose a system, companies should first gain an overview of the available technologies and tools that employees are already using. Next, they should evaluate which of these systems is critical to the company“s digital success, and whether they fulfill the company“s current as well as future needs. This helps preserve existing investments and avoid unnecessary cash outlays.

2. Evaluate features based on their business benefits. Many features like contextualization, rich media and social computing sound impressive, however these features are often weighted more heavily because of their „wow factor“ than business need. Therefore all of the functions should undergo a clear benefit analysis to determine which features offer immediate benefits and added value for daily processes. Experience shows that often features chosen to fulfill long-term business objectives are never implemented since the objectives change over time.

3. Rely on team players. Companies should especially focus on the integration potential of their Web content management (WCM) solution, and they should look for vendors who understand how to play well with other solutions. For instance, none of the content management systems on the market can offer ready-made modules for all of the possible complementary solutions from the CXM universe. Buyers should look for a central system with an open architecture, well-documented interfaces and strong technical support along with a portfolio of available connectors to popular enterprise portals and e-commerce platforms.

4. Use the experience of content managers. Often the best people to consult when choosing a content platform and implementing an online strategy are the employees responsible for creating, administering and updating the content. Content managers can be found in every position and specialized department – in the editorial office, sales, marketing, design, social media, human relations and corporate communications. As a rule, they are most familiar with how the system is used on a day-to-day basis, what challenges they face and which features and integrations offer them the greatest benefits, for instance by saving time during the daily editing process.

5. Define a clear customization strategy. Every company faces different challenges, so some customization of the CMS is inevitable. However, by planning strategically can keep development and maintenance costs low while keeping their option open. A good strategy considers the need for customization as the central content platform is being implemented. One approach could be to create certified standard modules and interfaces that contribute to the maintenance and availability of the central system.

National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Funds: Accessible internet site with CMS from e-Spirit

Focus on accessibility, user-friendliness and integration capability

Dortmund, July 10, 2012 – The National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Funds („GKV-Spitzenverband“), the central organization that represents the interests of the statutory health and nursing care insurance providers in Germany, has revised its online presence, both technically and visually, and opted for the FirstSpirit content management system from e-Spirit ()“>www.e-Spirit.com). The relaunch was focused on the accessibility of the web pages and on achieving a high degree of user friendliness. Apart from the editorial content of the web sites, the GKV-Spitzenverband also uses the CMS to manage more than 2,500 documents, with which the central organization informs about all issues, guidelines and changes to health and nursing care provisions on its internet site and the connected theme portals. The target groups of the online offering includes contractual partners, service providers and manufacturers in the health and care industry as well as journalists and politicians, who in future will be able to reach the correct content faster. The integration of a high-performance search based on the open source search engine Solr also helps to achieve this. The complex information offering is „very readily accessible“ to people with disabilities. This is the conclusion drawn by BITV-Test, which assesses the accessibility of the GKV-Spitzenverband web pages accordingly. The new website and the implementation of the CMS were carried out by the e-Spirit partner interactive tools GmbH.

Central content integration platform

For the GKV-Spitzenverband, the FirstSpirit CMS operates as a content integration platform. The editors therefore have a central tool with a simple, intuitive user interface, via which they can not only create, maintain and deploy editorial content via different output channels, but also integrate content from connected systems into the web projects, without having to switch between different applications. In future, the FirstSpirit AppCenter will be used as and when needed to very easily and quickly integrate any applications required into the editing interface. „This future capability and openness, alongside the outstanding usability, were the decisive criteria for our choice“, say Anja Härschel and Volckert John, who are responsible for the relaunch of the websites in the GKV-Spitzenverband communication department. Now that the relaunch of the main site (www.gkv-spitzenverband.de) has been completed, other internet sites of the organization are to be set up anew with the FirstSpirit CMS.

Meyer Werft Shipyard chooses FirstSpirit

New CMS and website for Cruise Shipbuilder

Dortmund/Bielefeld/Papenburg, June 14, 2012. Meyer Werft GmbH, specialist for building cruise ships, including the fleets of Aida Cruises, Disney Cruise Line and Celebrity Cruises, is implementing the FirstSpirit content management system (CMS). The software from e-Spirit will be the technical basis for the new company website, which has been redesigned with a completely new design (www.meyerwerft.com ) and goes live this year – to coincide with the launch of the Celebrity Reflection in September. Ship lovers, cruise fans and media representatives from across the world will visit the Papenburg-based company“s new site and find information on the shipyard and its ships. Implementation of the web project is being handled by the e-Spirit partner firm comspace, located in Bielefeld/Germany. Meyer Werft expects to see considerable time savings thanks to the user friendliness, and thus significant simplification of work for the workers in the content editing area. Another key factor in the selection was the future security of the investment thanks to FirstSpirit’s clear product strategy and its integration capability with existing and planned infrastructures. Following the Meyer Werft launch, plans call for the websites of the Rostock-based sister company Neptun Werft shipyard and other websites for the group of companies to be developed with the new CMS as well.

Usability optimizations for users and content editors

At www.meyerwerft.com you will find extensive information on the ships built on the shipyard, the company and its visitor center, the Papenburg site, as well as a career portal with job openings and brochures for applicants. In addition, a variety of media is available, including images, panoramic photos and videos of the cruise vessels. The shipyard’s many vendors can also find information on working with Meyer Werft, log in directly using an online form, or access the vendor portal. After the relaunch visitors will be guided through the web pages with a sophisticated user menu and will be able to find information that is relevant to them more quickly and displayed in a more appealing design.

The editing content in the bilingual website will be centrally created, administered, and maintained by a content editing team in corporate communications, purchasing and human resources department. With FirstSpirit’s excellent user friendliness and its efficient design of editing processes – including e.g. time-based publishing of content – the work of content editors will be greatly simplified in the future. Additional simplification is provided through the ability to include occasional users from specialized departments in the content editing process using the intuitive FirstSpirit WebClient.

Central Content Integration Platform

Meyer Werft also operates special online portals for vendors for example, and for employees it operates portals on quality management and occupational safety, as well as an HR portal. These portals are to be linked to the CMS over the short- to medium time frame, along with an existing media database, via the FirstSpirit AppCenter. FirstSpirit will then act as the Content Integration Platform that brings together content from different sources in a central editing system and enables efficient publishing over a full range of publishing channels. Content editors will then be spared from having to constantly switch back and forth between different applications. This will provide additional time savings and reduce errors as all content from different sources will be available centrally in the CMS and will not have to be transferred manually.

„Our ships represent high quality, innovative technical concepts, and reliability“, says Peter Hackmann, head of corporate communications at Meyer Werft. „And that’s what we expect from the technologies we use as well. With its openness and clear product strategy, FirstSpirit also offers us the ability to continue enhancing our websites in the future and to make adjustments to meet new requirements. The CMS will significantly simplify work for our editing team and drive the integration of web-based solutions. And that will make things much easier for the IT department.“

e-Spirit and BlueSky join forces in the US retail market: synergy of FirstSpirit CMS and IBM WebSphere Commerce

First joint project at one of the leading US retail chains

DORTMUND, Germany and BOSTON, MA, March 5, 2012 – e-Spirit Inc., manufacturer of content management system (CMS) FirstSpirit, has a new strategic integration partner in the USA: BlueSky Technology Partners. Based in Noblesville, Indiana, BlueSky is a Smarter Commerce Authorized IBM Premier Business Partner developing ambitious e-commerce projects at medium-sized companies and corporate enterprises on the basis of IBM WebSphere Commerce. With its new partnership, e-Spirit successfully drives its further expansion in the USA and Canada. Jointly with BlueSky and its extensive expertise in the industry, the CMS manufacturer wants to focus its attention on top class companies in the retail market. BlueSky has experience as the first „trained partner“ who has integrated FirstSpirit at a known US retail chain.

The CMS as content integration platform for successful online shops

With FirstSpirit as a content integration platform, companies can quickly transform their international web strategies, efficiently manage website content, intranets and extranets, as well as distribute through different channels or integrate in complex portal structures. The seamless integration of the CMS within the e-commerce platform IBM WebSphere Commerce allows the clients to easily develop and comfortably maintain high-performance and successful e-commerce websites. Thereby the CMS is the central content integration platform permitting quick and easy expansion of the data from the merchant applications with editorial and social content, as well as the integration of marketing instruments. This ensures the optimized editing processes and the quick return on investment.

Best-of-breed strategy through integration of any cloud services

Thanks to the innovative modules, such as the AppCenter for simple integration of any cloud services as well as the flexible and open architecture of FirstSpirit, companies can follow a best-of-breed strategy which permits to select and integrate applications that are suitable for them. In this way the companies can dissolve themselves from the so-called „rip & replace“ strategy of many other CMS manufacturers, at which the company“s clients must exchange their entire back end in one swoop and the selection of their applications is limited only to the „purchased“ assortment. As an experienced system integrator, BlueSky ensures the individual and seamless integration of FirstSpirit in the existing and desired IT systems.

Synergy of CMS and IBM WebSphere Commerce expertise

The goal of the new partnership is to bring together the technological, integration and industry expertise in the e-commerce environment and to offer, to commercial enterprises, an excellent symbiosis of shop solution, content management system and additional best-of-breed applications which support the success of the online merchant. „We are very happy to have in BlueSky another strategic partner in the USA, which has recognized the unique selling characteristic of FirstSpirit as a real content integration platform and wants to establish it together with us on the market“, says Robert Bredlau – COO North America. „BlueSky has a long and wide experience in the implementation of e-commerce projects on the basis of IBM WebSphere Commerce and also has excellent access to the retail sector.“ In parallel to the first project, which is already in operation at one large US retail chain, BlueSky has already trained additional employees and consultants to work with FirstSpirit. „With e-Spirit and its content integration platform, we have finally found, after a long search, the right partner in order to adapt the e-commerce platforms flexibly and efficiently on the basis of IBM WebSphere Commerce to the individual desires and requirements of the clients“, says Todd Irwin, partner and CEO at BlueSky. „In addition, the future-oriented roadmap and the modular expandability of FirstSpirit offers our clients a high level of investment security which is searching for its equal in the US market.“

e-Spirit at the Gartner PCC Summit in Orlando

Clients and interested parties which would like to convince themselves of the flexibility and integration power of the FirstSpirit CMS can do this from March 12-14 2012 at the „Gartner Portals, Content & Collaboration Summit“ in Orlando, Florida, where e-Spirit is presented for the first time. Based on the continuously positive development of the company and its convincing best-of-breed strategy, as well as on the basis of the exceptional usability and integration capability of the enterprise portals, Gartner has placed e-Spirit 2011 in the magic quadrant for web content management.

Please set up a personal meeting and a live demo at the Gartner PCC Summit.

As the manufacturer of the content management system FirstSpirit?, e-Spirit is a technological leader in the field of web content management (WCM). Well-known customers from all business sectors rely on FirstSpirit? for implementing successful web strategies worldwide and for the creation, management and publication of content in highly diverse channels (Internet, intranet, extranet, mobile channels, PDF, email newsletters, portals, DTP, technical documentation). CeBIT 2012: e-Spirit will be presenting FirstSpirit 5 for optimum frontend and backend user experience

– Maximum usability and efficiency for professional and occasional editors
– New integration modules for SharePoint® 2010 and Liferay

Dortmund, February, 2 2012 – e-Spirit (www.e-Spirit.com) will be presenting the upcoming major release of its Content Management System (CMS) FirstSpirit 5 for the first time at CeBIT 2012 (Hall 6, Stand G26), from March 6 – 10. The new version of FirstSpirit will be launched on the market in September and will ensure extraordinarily high usability, for both frontend and backend users. It contains numerous new developments as well as further enhancements of existing features in both editing environments, WebClient and JavaClient, and with UX Bridge it includes a new infrastructure module for easy implementation of dynamic web pages.
Under the Content Integration Platform theme, in addition to the tried and tested portal integrations for SAP NetWeaver and IBM WebSphere, e-Spirit will be presenting the new modules for Microsoft SharePoint® 2010 and Liferay Portal. In live demos, visitors to the trade fair will experience how companies with the FirstSpirit AppCenter can quickly and easily integrate web applications directly into their CMS and therefore facilitate the work of their online editors.

FirstSpirit 5: Positive frontend and backend user experience

The new major release FirstSpirit 5 optimizes the two central factors for the success of a website: user experience and content. Highly topical, relevant content optimally presented, ensures a positive user experience and therefore for regularly returning website visitors and better conversion rates. For in-house users, i.e. the employees in the editing, PR, marketing and functional departments, the benefits of positive user experience is efficient content management processes. „The new release is the result of consistent continued development of e-Spirit’s product philosophy“, says Jörn Bodemann, CEO of e-Spirit. „With the integration strength, efficiency optimization and absolute usability of FirstSpirit 5 we are setting new standards.“

WebEdit 5: Maximum usability for fast and easy content maintenance

FirstSpirit 5 gets a completely redeveloped WebClient with improved user concept. The new WebEdit 5 editing environment more specifically addresses the requirements and needs of occasional editors, who want to edit content quickly and above all easily, without any great effort. Complex functions and structures have been removed from the user interface of the new WebClient; it is now clearer and can therefore be used more intuitively. Time-saving functions have been added, such as drag-and-drop support.

JavaClient: All editing tools under one interface

The FirstSpirit JavaClient is the central editing cockpit, which provides all functions and required tools under a central interface. Here professional editors can easily implement complex tasks, merge content from all kinds of different source systems and deploy it in any channels and projects required. At CeBIT 2012, e-Spirit will be showing new application integrations for the FirstSpirit AppCenter, with which any (web) applications required, can be directly integrated into the CMS editing interface with their familiar look and functionality. In this way, e.g. online image databases, Google Maps/Earth/Translate or office programs can be used in the JavaClient, which significantly simplifies the editing processes.

UX-Bridge: Connecting content and user experience

With FirstSpirit 5, e-Spirit provides new infrastructure for highly dynamic web pages: UX-Bridge ensures a positive user experience in the frontend. It enables live updates of content directly on the web page and acts as an integration platform for the live website, e.g. for integrating social media solutions, for content targeting or user generated content.

Content integration platform: Portal integration for Sharepoint 2010, Liferay & Co.

With FirstSpirit and its portal integration solutions, even highly complex, extensive IT infrastructures can be efficiently used and maintained. e-Spirit will be presenting the new module for Microsoft SharePoint® 2010 for the first time at the CeBIT. With it, users can easily and conveniently implement extensive multi-site management and multi-lingual web projects in SharePoint environments. The leading open source portal provider Liferay will also be presenting itself and its portal on the e-Spirit stand. The Liferay portal supports social media applications such as forums, blogs and wikis to a particular extent. e-Spirit will also be showing the certified integrations in SAP NetWeaver and IBM WebSphere, which are already successfully being used in many companies.
