The Nuance Group: Global Websites With FirstSpirit CMS

Global travel retailer chooses the content integration platform from e-Spirit AG

Zurich/Dortmund, December 3, 2012 – The Nuance Group, one of the world“s largest travel retailers, is implementing the FirstSpirit content management system (CMS) from e-Spirit. The travel retailer will be using the CMS as a content integration platform for the re-launch of its corporate and duty free websites. By doing so, the company is relying on a future-proofed technical foundation that allows it to serve the constantly growing demands of its target groups online, and to easily take advantage of future opportunities and web trends. In addition, using FirstSpirit means that Nuance will benefit from more user-friendly management of its web projects and be able to quickly implement new website features to roll them out internationally.

Efficient content management and web development

FirstSpirit CMS is replacing Nuance“s current website platform that no longer fulfils the company“s future needs. The main criteria for selecting the new CMS were a high level of user-friendliness and flexibility in developing, administering and managing the company“s online services on a standardised platform. The primary focus here is on creating efficient editing processes for the administrators and editors in marketing, communication and HR in order to quickly provide attractive content and interaction options for the web users, thereby increasing online engagement. The intuitive usability of the system also allows additional users from other departments to be included in the editing process without the need for extensive training. With its separation of content, structure and layout, FirstSpirit will create additional efficiency gains. Thus, once content has been created – even in multiple languages – it can be reused in various projects, layouts and publication channels, and it can also be adapted to local conditions within the central corporate design. The CMS will optimally support organising the workflows for content creation, quality assurance and publication, which will save even more time.

Investment on future

„We want to provide our customers, partners, suppliers and other stakeholders with a modern and engaging online offer, now and in the future, something that gives our website visitors added value and that they enjoy using. But the expectations are constantly rising,“ says Andrea Belardini, CEO Europe, Then Nuance Group. „With our new FirstSpirit solution, we can quickly and flexibly respond to new trends and bring innovation to the market while managing the effort and investments needed.“

In addition to extensive out-of-the-box features for global use, Nuance was also impressed by the system“s openness and flexibility. Thanks to the open architecture, the system can be expanded and adjusted, for instance by adding third-party solutions for media asset management, customer relationship management and recommendation engines, as well as cloud services for web analysis and SEO, social media, campaign management and virtually any other best-of-breed application. As a content integration platform, the CMS combines all applications and content into a standardised editing platform that easily adapts to new requirements and guarantees the protection of existing investments.
