Performance, security and high availability for SAP HANA on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server
West Chester, May 18th, 2016 – Software and Consulting company Datavard introduced a free, community-oriented version of CanaryCode™ real-time monitoring at SAPPHIRE® NOW and ASUG Annual Conference in Orlando today. Datavard has developed this software to proactively monitor the entire SAP® software stack. SAP HANA users and regular customers of SUSE® Linux Enterprise Server will profit from its maximum performance, increased security and high availability.

Real-time monitoring with CanaryCode is available to the SUSE community in 3 versions: Community Edition, Enterprise Edition and Premium Edition.
The complimentary Community Edition includes a combination of preconfigured Best Practices – derived from over 20 years of SAP business experience and multiple SAP HANA projects – and the functions of Application Performance Management (APM). CanaryCode proactively monitors the entire system landscape in real-time from a central cockpit with predefined KPIs. Specialized indicators for SAP HANA and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server were developed in cooperation with SAP and SUSE.
With the acquired data, CanaryCode can analyze trends, correlate indicators, send alert messages, determine the precise cause of bottlenecks, and thereby increase the performance and efficiency of the system landscape. In addition, the benchmarking of KPIs – such as data growth or response times for particular transactions and reports – ensures valuable starting points for optimization with over 350 different systems.
Administrators document troubleshooting methods and solutions in an Error Resolution Library. „For each solved problem, the knowledge of the community is archived in the Error Resolution Library. Using pattern recognition, knowledge is anonymously made available for the entire community,“ said Martin Zlaty, Datavard Development Director, about the underlying principle. „The system is thereby continuously learning, and troubleshooting is expedited.“
In the fee-based Enterprise Edition, the pool of knowledge is enriched with tips and tricks from Datavard experts. Furthermore, individualized KPIs are easily defined. The Premium Edition – available in 2017 – offers additional innovations such as machine learning and predictive analytics that identify ways to increase CanaryCode“s degree of automation and further approaches to business optimization.
