(DLG). The single most important event for the agricultural machinery industry takes place in Hanover, Germany, from 10 to 14 November 2014 (preview days 8 and 9 November). „Future Farming“ is the title chosen for this year’s unique, cross-industry Systems & Components supplier platform which is held under the auspices of Agritechnica. More than 100,000 visitors from all walks of the agricultural trade – engineers, developers, purchasers, manufacturers and dealers – are expected to attend this specific area of the show, Systems & Components, where exhibitors from some 40 different countries will use the platform to set the course for mobile applications and related fields. In practice, the platform will showcase systems, modules and components that relate to engines, hydraulic systems, axles, powertrains, cabs, parts, tyres as well as electronic systems and software.

Technology transfer at high level
Four top trends – efficiency, reliability, safety/ergonomics and environmental protection – form the central theme of the three-part specialist programme: Technology Forum, Pathways and Special Show. Located in Halls 15, 16, 17, Systems & Components is also open to other industries and anticipates an exciting exchange of expertise. User forums, high-calibre lectures, technical talks and an international audience will explore the challenges in the entire value chain. The Technology Forum takes place at the S&C Lounge in Hall 16, Stand C 43 from 8 to 13 November between 9am and 5pm.

Technology Talks
This year for the first time, the traditional forums will be supplemented by the Technology Talks series, with contributions from exhibitors, professional associations and academics. This Technology Forum will be exploring issues such as human-machine interfaces, Isobus, supply chain excellence, intelligent sourcing strategies, downsizing of hydraulic systems, best practices in the ag machinery industry, additive manufacturing for industrial applications, to name just a few of the topics on the busy programme.

The bigger picture
Valuable insights into the „human capital“ of the company will be central to the presentation given by Massimilliano Franz of Carraro Tractors. The presentation centers on lifelong learning and encouraging employees to seek further qualifications and securing their long-term commitment to the company. Sunday, 8 November 2015, 16:00 h

Taking purchasing strategies as an example in his presentation on intelligent sourcing strategies, Torsten Dehner from AGCO will be flagging up the growing importance of collaboration between industry and its suppliers. Manufacturers seeking proximity to suppliers. Monday, 9 November 2015, 10:00 h

Dr Christian Fiebig of Porsche Consulting GmbH, a consulting company in the automotive industry, will be giving a presentation on „Supply Chain Excellence“ in which he identifies opportunities across different industries. What can the agricultural machinery industry learn from the automotive industry? Or vice versa? Tuesday, 10 November 2015, 10.00 h

In his presentation „HMI: advanced sensor systems for the environment“, Matthias Strobel will be describing to trade visitors how Intelligente Maschinen GmbH handles the use of new sensor technology and the integration of smart technologies. He also draws on the company’s experience in research projects and the roles that agricultural robots, environment sensing and modelling play as well as e-mobility for commercial vehicles. Friday, 13 November 2015, 15:00 h

Professional exchange among peers
The events, lectures and Technology Talks will be chaired by different experts. These include Prof Ludger Frerichs, TU Braunschweig; Prof Thomas Herlitzius, TU Dresden; Peter Synek, Deputy Director at Fluid Power VDMA; DI Heinrich Prankl, Head of Research and Innovation at BLT Josephinum and Prof Danilo Monarca, President AIIA, Italian Association of Agricultural Engineering, University Viterbo. About Systems & Components
Systems & Components was first established as an independent area under the umbrella of the world’s largest agricultural trade fair, Agritechnica, in 2013. Systems & Components offers suppliers an international professional platform to present systems, modules and components for the agricultural engineering industry and related industrial sectors. The first Agritechnica was held in 1985, and then every two years in Frankfurt. The world’s leading trade fair for agricultural engineering has been held in Hanover since 1995.

The organiser, DLG e. V. (Deutsche Landwirtschaft-Gesellschaft, or German Agricultural Society), based in Frankfurt am Main, was founded by the engineer and writer Max Eyth in 1885 and numbers over 26,000 members today. The independent DLG promotes exchanges of knowledge and shapes opinion as an open forum. Over 200 full time employees and more than 3,000 voluntary experts work out solutions for the agricultural and food sectors. The DLG’s well-known test centre for technology and farm inputs, which is the largest of its kind in the world, is accredited and notified nationally and internationally.

The DLG has organised trade exhibitions in the agricultural and food sectors for over 125 years. The best known leading trade fairs apart from Agritechnica include EuroTier, EnergyDecentral and, with Koelnmesse, Anuga FoodTec.
