Opening of EuroMold 2013: World Fair Presents the Latest Application Development Trends

Frankfurt/Main, December 3, 2013: EuroMold in its anniversary year has opened at the Messe Frankfurt exhibition centre and will offer numerous highlights for visitors in the coming days. The trade fair is going to present state-of-the-art products, serve as a platform for networking within the industry, discuss developments and surprise visitors with numerous promotions. Demand for online tickets was once again high this year, so that a large number of national and international decision-makers can be expected to be in attendance. The number of exhibitors will be slightly higher than last year at 1,056. Numerous B2B meetings will be held as well and high-ranking participants from industry and research are going to attend. With the special topics of lightweight construction, hybrid technology, hydroforming and thermoforming, EuroMold 2013 presents methods and processes that help manufacturers create new products more quickly, efficiently and cost-effectively. Strong partners from the fields of turning and milling technology are going to be among the exhibitors. There will be theme parks for the jewellery industry and dental technology. Efficient development and simulation processes are being offered along with special exhibitions on rotational moulds as well as VDI/NCG guidelines for evaluating the production quality of machine tools.

The topic of 3D printing technology is a very important element of EuroMold this year as well. The „DigiFabb“ joint exhibition stand presents 3D printing for everyone and the latest developments are being presented in the course of the forum „3D Printing Vision for the Future“. At the international Terry Wohlers Conference, visitors can inform themselves about the topic of „Business and Investment Opportunities in Additive Manufacturing and 3D Printing“. The international competition for design in 3D printing – the purmundus challenge 2013 – will once again recognise outstanding contributions this year.

For this year“s partner country Italy, special exhibits of Italian manufacturers in various fields of industry are being presented and specific production processes vividly demonstrated in the „Casa Italia“ (hall 9.0). Here the visitors will also be pampered by a shop concept with typical Italian products.

More than 100 top-class speakers will give exciting presentations and lead discussions in the course of six forums with topics including lightweight construction, materials and design+engineering.

The EuroMold AWARD – the Oscar of application development which is presented for outstanding technical innovation – is going to present a collection of numerous award-winning exhibits to honour many of the winners over the past 15 years on the occasion of the world fair’s anniversary year.

An e-mobility trial course is set up in hall 8.0, giving visitors an opportunity to try out many different electric vehicles by various manufacturers. This allows visitors to the trade fair to experience the current state-of-the-art up close and personally while taking a break from the trade fair.

The trade fair will once again feature numerous B2B meetings this year, providing exhibitors and visitors with the opportunity for direct contact to discuss new projects and partnerships in addition to expanding networks. Dr.-Ing. The opening press conference is being held on Tuesday, December 3, 2013, 11:00 am to 1:00 pm in hall 9.0, exhibition stand C150. The management of DEMAT GmbH and trade fair management, Ms. Diana Schnabel and Mr. Dr.-Ing. Eberhard Döring, are going to welcome members of the press. Mr. Michael Boddenberg, Minister of State for Federal Matters and Federal Representative of the State of Hesse, as well as Mr. Dr. Cristiano Cottafavi, Consul General of the Partner Country Italy along with high-ranking industry representatives are going to speak as well.

A festive evening is gong to be held at the Villa Kennedy in the Frankfurt Sachsenhausen district on December 5, 2013. Mingling over appetizers, a buffet and varied entertainment programme will contribute to simulating industry networking and a relaxed evening.
