From now on visitors to and customers of the Swiss online shop www.quelle.ch can view recommendations that match their needs. To achieve this, UNITO Versand & Dienstleistungen GmbH in cooperation with BAUR integrated the prudsys Real-time Decisioning Engine (abbreviated to: prudsys RDE) into the QUELLE shop environment.
Individual product recommendations oriented to the purchasing behaviour of an online shop visitor and thus with high personal relevance are currently one of the most important must haves for an online shop.
This special form of personally addressing customers not only increases revenue and the shop’s cross and up-selling potential. It also significantly increases customer satisfaction as products are not recommended randomly but rather take the visitor’s interests into account.
UNITO Versand & Dienstleistungen GmbH is the largest mail order group in the Alpine region and now offers the customers of the Swiss QUELLE branded shop this special customer service. When doing online shopping at www.quelle.ch visitors are recommended products that are highly likely to interest them in real-time at various points in the shopping process. When selecting the relevant software UNITO chose the prudsys Real-time Decisioning Engine (abbreviated to: prudsys RDE). The solution produced by the real-time analysis specialists is considered to be the technologically leading solution for real-time customisation and is already used successfully by more than 50% of the top 20 mail order companies in Germany.
The Austrian QUELLE shop at www.quelle.at, which also belongs to the UNITO mail order group, also uses the prudsys RDE to analyse the purchasing, surfing and click behaviour of shop visitors and to generate intelligent product recommendations based on this.

On the other the system has been developed continuously so we are now able to integrate real-time recommendations into various locations in the shop.“ so Kirstin Aicher, head of E-Commerce at UNITO Versand und Dienstleistungen GmbH.
The recommendations can be displayed, for example, on the product view page and on the range introductory pages. Each shop visitor can also see top sellers and category-specific recommendations.
Another objective of UNITO was also the implementation of real-time recommendations in the electronic newsletters. The prudsys RDE also stood out here for the company, which is based in Salzburg, because of its high compatibility with third-party systems. Although the prudsys RDE has its own module that can also generate customised real-time recommendations in electronic newsletters, this feature can also be combined with the company’s existing own software. So the prudsys RDE supplies the recommendations based on daily log files for recipients of the QUELLE newsletter, for example, and imports these into the company’s newsletter dispatch program.
UNITO appointed BAUR Versand GmbH & Co. KG, which is also responsible for technical support for a few other UNITO shops, to integrate the prudsys RDE into the relevant QUELLE shop environment.
