Strong Layer 2 hardware encryption on optical transport system

Keeping data secure and ensuring the clients valuable assets of sensitive information are protected, will leverage any operator above the rest.

As part of Cube Optics‘ Transport Cube series, the Cypher Cube offers a strong Layer 2 hardware encryption. The encryption is based on IEEE 802.ae compliant MAC security with FIPS approved AES block cipher, placed right on the transponder card of the optical transport system. Layer 2 also essentially prevents any tracking of sender-to-receiver information. The key management is automated, by the end-point physical transport system. Making it simple plug-and-play.

The Cypher Cube has superior throughput with lowest latency of less than 5 microseconds, making it ideal for even the most demanding real-time, latency-sensitive applications. Cube Optics‘ Cube is simple to implement, requiring little or no configuration and maintenance. It operates at full wire speed of 1Gig Ethernet or 10Gig Ethernet, making it the fastest encryption technology out there.

The Transport Cube series is a comprehensive carrier grade, cost effective and very flexible modular platform, that combines multi-protocol transport for metro applications. CUBO’s Transport Cube enables network operators to implement a wide range of signal boosting, media conversions, optical protection switching and last but not the least Ethernet security. The Encryption Unit is a compact unit that fits into 1 slot of any of the Transport Cube chassis and protects the Ethernet against eavesdropping and harmful manipulation.
